There is something joyous about winter, not only because of the fashion – think scarves, gloves, hats – but because of the food. There is nothing like curling up in a warm room when it is blistery, cold and rainy outside eating a hot chicken pot pie or slurping down my Mums famous golden soup. Winter brings comforting tradition. But winter is coming late this year down south. According to the weatherman, 2017 is Albany’s warmest year to date, and this is why I love my photo of Dads chilli in our garden. If it wasn’t for the lovely blue sky, the nippy air and the promise of a 20 degree day, I would not have caught the glistening sun in my pipping hot chilli.
